It's very much Regency in style and fabric, but Im sure if it's a century later as costume? It came with some other early stuff. It's very simple in design and construction, and fastens with brass hooks and eyes to the rear. This is really quite small, so I think perhaps for a young teen. Kate Greenaway style perhaps? It could however be worn by a petite adult but be aware sleeves
